About Lady Waves
Surfing is incredibly humbling. One moment you're experiencing the ride of your life, and the next, you're wholly being tossed around by a powerful wave. The ocean always reminding you of who is in charge. But even in the most exhilarating of moments, there's this profound sense of time standing still. It's a moment to escape your body and mind and feel immensely connected to nature. To work out your true place in the world.
You see, surfing, in its true essence, is simple. You only need waves and a surfboard to catch them on. However, the overflow from spending time in the ocean is the understanding that life is precious, beautiful, and ever-changing. We're not put here on this earth to live rigid, complicated, stressed lifestyles; no, we're here to enjoy life's pure and extraordinary pleasures. Lady Waves exists to inspire precisely this!
Where it all began
Four winters ago, a new friend invited me to come out for a surf on a borrowed longboard that hung outside the boot of her car. That morning I picked up a wetsuit from the op shop for five dollars and tentatively followed her into the waves. As soon as I stood up, my feet gripping onto the sticky wax of the board, my childhood love of surfing came rushing back.
This was the beginning of a new era. A new way of living that would transform my life! Fast forward to now, and I'm dancing with the waves almost every single day. It's become a beautiful addiction that has changed the way I feel about everything.
The more I surfed, the more I discovered a noticeable absence of stylish wetsuits and surf goods that didn't cost the earth, both figuratively and literally. Ladies to the front, it's not just for the men in the water. There's no reason you can't look fabulous while doing what you love. Because when you look good, you feel good!

Sustainability
We aim to drop a limited-edition product, with small quantities produced every 2-4 weeks. We only produce more if we know you want it based on pre-orders, waitlists and direct feedback from your purchases. This makes our ordering process intentional and efficient, meaning if something sells out, it sells out! No excess stock sitting around gathering dust.
Working with a small-batch model allows us to try lots of new and exciting things, without being wasteful, so we can perfect what you love about Lady Waves. Furthermore, everything we produce is made using sustainable materials and practices wherever possible. Whether it be upcycled vintage, deadstock fabrics or kinder-to-the-earth alternatives, we seek to provide wave sliders with beautiful, practical goods designed to last.
To break down the price tag barrier, we also endeavor to keep prices attractively accessible. We also acknowledge that our approach to sustainability could be better; however, we're committed to growth, discovering new methods, and getting better as we evolve our offerings as a small business.
